 ალი ჰასანოვი, დაბადებული 1976 წ-ს ბაქოში, არის აზერბაიჯანელი ხელოვანი, მუსიკოსი და კინო რეჟისორი, რომელიც მონაწილეობდა რიგ სახელოვნებო პროექტებში აზერბაიჯანსა და მის ფარგლებს გარეთ. იგი არის პიონერი აზერბაიჯანში პერფორმანსის ხელოვნებაში. ალი ჰასანოვი წარადგენდა აზერბაიჯანს ვენეციის 52 ბიენალეზე.იგი ასევე არის დამაარსებელი და ხელმძღვანელი მუსიკალური კოლექტივისა PG Large Used Project.

Ali Hasanov, born in 1976 in Baku, is an Azerbaijani artist, musician and filmmaker, participant of a number of art projects in Azerbaijan and abroad. He is the pioneer performance artist in Azerbaijan and he is recognized for his contribution to the development of performance art in Azerbaijan. Ali represented Azerbaijan at the 52nd Venice Biennale.
He is also the founder and leader of a musical collective called PG Large Used Project.
Ali Hasanov remains active in various genres such as visual and performance art, video and sound installations, painting and drawing.

Max Kullmann and Jan Paul Herzer (Hands On Sound) are based in Berlin and work in the field of acoustic scenography. Combining their experiences in composition, sound design and architecture, many of their site-specific concepts also involve generative and interactive elements.

Frauke Schmidt, sound artist, based in Berlin. 2004 – 2006 studied Musicology and Communication Studies at Technical University Berlin and Ethnology Studies at Humboldt University Berlin. 2006 - 2008 Sound Studies at University of Arts Berlin, Master of Arts.

საშა ჭავჭავაძის შერეული მედიით შესრულებულ ნახატებში და ინსტალაციებში ასახულია ოცი წლის მანძილზე განვითარებული ისტორია, კონცენტრირებული ომის ზეგავლენასზე კულტურაში, მეხსიერებასა და მშვიდობაზე. ჭავჭავაძის ინტერდისციპლინარული პროექტი „ასანთების მუზეუმი“ www.museumofmatches.com ვიზუალური საშუალებებით გამოხატავს ცივი ომის ისტორიას ინსტალაციაში და პუბლიკაციებში: პროექტი წარმოდგენილი იყო, როგორც პერმანენტული ინტერაქტიური ინსტალაცია „ცივი ომის მუზეუმი ერთ ოთახში“ - დოკუმენტები, ფოტოები და წიგნები, რომლებიც წარდგენილი იყო საზოგადოებისთვის ბრუკლინში, (ნიუ იორკი) 2005-2012 წლებში; ასევე წარმოდგენილი იყო Kentler International Drawing Space -ში და როტუნდას გალერეაში ბრუკლინში, ასევე დაიწერა პუბლიკაციები ხელოვნების და კულტურის ჟურნალებში (Cabinet, Bomb, NYFA Current); და გამოიცა წიგნის სახით 2011 წელს Proteotypes-ს გამომცემლობის მიერ.

Sasha Chavchavadze’s mixed-media paintings, drawings and installations have for twenty years explored the affect of historical upheaval and war on culture, memory and place. Chavchavadze’s interdisciplinary project, “Museum of Matches” www.museumofmatches.com translates Cold War history into visual forms through installations and publications: the project has been presented as a “one-room Cold War museum,” a permanent, interactive installation of art, documents, photographs and books that was open to the public in Brooklyn, NY, from 2005 – 2012; as exhibitions at the Kentler International Drawing Space and the Rotunda Gallery in Brooklyn; as publications in art and culture magazines (Cabinet, Bomb, NYFA Current); and as a book published by Proteotypes in 2011.

Chavchavadze’s project, “Battle Pass” is a series of public art installations created in partnership with the New York City Department of Transportation that revolve around and mark sites of the Battle of Brooklyn, a forgotten battle of the American Revolutionary War. Chavchavadze has exhibited her work extensively in the U.S. and abroad, including at the Luise Ross Gallery in New York, the Arkansas Art Center, and a three-year Art-in-Embassies exhibition at the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi. She will be coming to Tbilisi for the first time in May 2012 where her exhibit of mixed-media drawings will open at the Museum of Literature on May 15^th.

Chavchavadze is the Founding Creative Director of Proteus Gowanus Interdisciplinary Gallery in Brooklyn, NY www.proteusgowanus.org , a collaborative space that links art to other disciplines through exhibits of art, artifacts and books and related events. She teaches art at the Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, NY where she lives with her husband and two children.

Hans Rosenström (born 1978 in Lohja Finland), is an installation based artist who works between Stockholm (Sweden) and Helsinki (Finland). Rosenström holds an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki. He works with site-specific projects using both time and space as points of origin in his artistic practice.

“Hans Rosenström constructs narratives into spatial experiences in public, social and private domains. Rosenström challenges the definitions of the everyday spaces. He defines his work both site- and situation-specific. He states the impossibility to separate a work of art, or any object, event, encounter, from the contextual moment. The point of origin is the surrounding moment.
For him working in public space always starts with finding something identifiable and specific for a location. He pays attention to social structures in order to shed light upon the site from a different viewpoint that for example a local passer-by is used to in experiencing. With this Rosenström is looking for ways on intervening and even confusing everyday perception. However, his aim is not to lay down the rules of his work but rather to set the stage for alternatives and questions. Hans Rosenström has exhibited widely internationally. The most recent includes the group exhibitions; So You Say at West Space in Melbourne, Australia, and Intersección, Santiago a Mil, in Centre Gabriela Mistral in Santiago, Chile (2012).
In 2011 he had a solo exhibition at The Studio, Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, and participated in Steirischer Herbst Festival in Graz, Austria, The 6th Momentum Biennial, Moss, Norway, the exhibition Nordic Art Today, Loft Project ETAGI, Saint Petersburg, Russia, and Intersection, Prague Quadrennial, Prague, Czech.

ქალაქში სეირნობით ვცდილობთ შევისწავლოთ საზოგადოებრივი სივრცის ხარისხი იმისთვის, რომ პირდაპირი, ფიზიკური კონტაქტი გვქონდეს საჯარო სივრცესთან.

სეირნობა, როგორც ფიზიკური ასპექტი, გვეხმარება ქალაქის გრზნობით აღქმაში.

ჩვენ ფოკუსს გავაკეთებთ მარტივ სოციალურ აქტივობებზე და ურთიერთქმედებებზე, რაც დამოკიდებულია ქალაქის მატერიალურ გარემოებაზე.

How much time do we spend at public spaces? What do we do there?
We try to examine the quality of public spaces by walking through the city in order to be in a direct physical contact with public space.
Walking helps us as a physical aspect for sensual perception of the city.
We will focus on simple social activities and interactions which depend on material environment of the city.
/Like a *game*/ The workshop will take place as a practical city-mapping according to the tasks which the participants can define and analyze. A database will be created this way, and the gained data will be useful as art material - in creation of artifacts.

მაგდალენა კუხტოვა ცხოვრობს ბრატისლავაში და სწავლობს სადოქტოროზე სახვითი ხელოვნებისა და დიზაინის აკადემიაში, საჯარო ხელოვნების განხრით. იგი მუშაობს სლოვაკიის ნაციონალური გალერეის საგანმანათლებლო განყოფილებაში.

Magdalena Kuchtova lives in Bratislava. She is studying doctoral study on the Academy of Fine Arts and Design with theme public art and is working for Slovak National Gallery on the Education department.

Most recently public space has become her creative material, which interests her in its actual form with accumulated layers of genius loci, history, culture, social presence, etc. Magdalenas aim is to adopt social, historical and cultural layers of public environment and its penetration in her visual intervention.

Another connection among selected projects is text, inseparable part of her works, where she is interested in semantic possibilities or significance in a given environments, which discovers possible politics, historical relativism or generational attitude.

Workshop program of Lydia Matthews

Lydia Matthews is a Brooklyn-based critical writer, contemporary art curator and cultural activist who currently serves as Director of the Curatorial Design Research Lab and Professor of Visual Culture at Parsons The New School for Design. Trained as an art historian at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of London's Courtauld Institute, her work focuses on the intersection of contemporary art/craft/design practices, diverse local cultures and global economies. Before relocating to New York to take a five year position as Dean of Academic Programs at Parsons, she taught for 17 years at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, where she co-founded and chaired the graduate program in visual criticism and also directed the MFA program in fine arts. In her writing on art in the public sphere, which includes Against All Odds: Ethics/Aesthetics (Athens: Papasotiriou Publishers, 2011), Critical Perspectives: Writings on Art and Civic Dialogue (Washington DC: Americans for the Arts, 2005), and The Drama Review (New York University, 1998), she examines how artists, designers and curators have fostered lively democratic debates and intimate community interactions through their social practices projects.

- სიცარიელე

პირველი დავალება არის რეაგირება ყოფილი პიონერთა სასახლის, ქანდაკების დეპარტამენტში არსებულ ცარიელ პედესტალზე.

სტუდენტებმა უნდა ჩაატარონ მოცემული ადგილის (პედესტალ) ისტორიული კვლევა: რა ქანდაკება იდგა აქ ადრე, ვინ იყო მისი ავტორი, როდის იქნა ეს ქანდაკება შექმნილი და რა მიზნით, რატომ არის ამჟამად ცარიელი, სამომავლო გეგმები? პროექტი უნდა მოიცავდეს ისტორიას პიონერთა სასახლის თანამშრომლების მონაყოლიდან, შენობის ისტორიულ ფოტოებს, მაგ. წიგნებს ლოკალური არქივიდან.

ვორკშოფი დასრულებისას პროექტი უნდა შეიცავდეს: კონცეფციას, გეგმას, პედესტალზე დასადგმელი სამომავლო ობიექტის ჩანახატს, როგორ შეიძლება ამ ადგილის გამოყენება და სამომავლოდ განსახორციელებელი პროექტის კონცეფციას.

- გადანაცვლება მშრალ ხიდზე “ბარახოლკაზე”/ როგორ გავყიდოთ “საკუთრება”.

2. ვორკშოფის მონაწილეებმა თავისი თავის პრეზენტაციისთვის უნდა გამოიყენონ “ბარახოლკის” სივრცე, გააკეთონ სახელოვნებო განაცხადი. მათ უნდა გადაწყვიტონ რა უნდათ აჩვენონ საზოგადოებას თავიანთი ცხოვრებიდან, რა არის მათთვის ფასეული თავიანთ საკუთარ სივრცეში, მაგ. სახლში.

გადანაცვლება პირადულ სფეროში შეიძლება წარმოადგენდეს ინსტალაციას, პერფორმანსს, შემთხვევით ქმედებას, მონაწილეობის რაიმე მეთოდს და ა.შ.მონაწილეებს შეუძლიათ ადგილზევე ააგონ თავიანთი “დახლი”. გამოფენა “ბარახოლკაზე” შედგება ორშაბათს ან სამშაბათს (შეთანხმებით).

Second day:

-Workshop

Workshop includes two themes, the students can choose one, or react for both of them.

Idea of workshop is projection of own artistic ideas to public space.

-Emptiness

1. The first task is reaction to empty pedestal on the corridor of sculpture department in former Pioneers House.

The students will develop historical research about plinth /which kind of sculpture was here before, who was author, when it was made for which reasons, why is empty now, plans for a future/. The projects should include: oral history from people from Pio. House, pictures from history- for example books, local archive of sculpture dep. Pio. House.

The results of the workshop will include: concept, plan, and drawing of the future of the plinth - how to use it, and actually implement the concept in the future.

-The shift to Flea Market /hot to sell yourself/

2. The participants of workshop will use a public space Flea Market for showing own privacy - as to make an artistic statement. They must decide what they want show for a public from their life, which kind of value has for them their own space, for example at home. The transfer of privacy can be installation, performance, action happening, participative methods...etc.

They can transfer, construct and recreate own privacy directly in public space. The exhibition on Flea Market will be organized in one time /Monday, Tuesday/

მიხალ მორავჩიკი, სლოვაკი ხელოვანია ბრატისლავადან, რომელიც ინსტალაციებზე მუშაობს. მან ბრატისლავას სამხატვრო აკადემია დაამთავრა. ამჟამად იგი ასწავლის უნივერსიტეტში და არის რედაქტორი ვიზუალური ხელოვნების განხრით. იგი თავის ნამუშევრებში განიხილავს და უბრუნდება ეგრეთწოდებულ სოციალისტურ ესთეტიკას, იკვლევს მის როლს ახალ, შეცვლილ სოციალურ კონტექსტში. ხელოვანი აკეთებს სოციალისტური პოპ-კულტურის პარაფრაზირებას, გარკვეულწილად აღადგენს მას, ახდენს რა მის აზრობრივ შეფასებას და სოც-რეალისტური პერიოდის შაბლონების პირდაპირ მანიპულირებას. მორავჩიკის ინსტალაციები ატარებს პოლიტიკურ შინაარსს და აღწევს ემოციურ-ნოსტალგიურ განზომილებას; ამის გარდა იგი იკვლევს სოციალური თანასწორობის, ნაციონალიზმის და ექს-ტერიტორიულობის ფენომენს ცენტრალური ევროპის რეგიონში, ასევე პოლიტიკური ჰეგემონიის მიმართ გლობალურ კონტექსტში. ღია საზოგადოების სხვადასხვა ინტერპრეტაციების ძიებისას, ხელოვანი კონცენტრირდება სოციალურ ურთიერთობებზე და აქტიურ სივრცეებს და მის ვიზიტორებს შორის ინტერაქციებზე, რაც ქმნის ახალ კონტექსტს სახელოვნებო ნამუშევრის შესაქმნელად.

Michal Moravčík is an installation artist based in Bratislava. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. He is the university teacher and visual art editor. Within his artistic work he employs and recycles so-called socialistic aesthetics, in search for it´s new role in a changed social context. Artist paraphrases or to a certain degree reconstructs the socialistic pop-culture, doing so by means of quotations or direct manipulations of ready-mades from real-socialistic period. Moravčík´s installations and environments carry the political meanings reaching the emotional - nostalgic dimensions; beside other he researches the phenomenon of social equality, nationalism and exterritoriality in a region of Central Europe, or with regard to the political hegemonies in global context. In search for diverse interpretations of open-society, artist focuses on social relations and interactions between active space vs. visitor creating new context of work of art.

იგი თავის მიმდინარე პროექტებში დაინტერესებულია დოკუმენტური და სახელოვნებო ფოტოს შორის საზღვრით – სად მთავრდება დომუმენტური ფოტოს “რეალისტურობა” და იწყება ხელოვნება.

Agata Skowronek is a photographer, born in 1976 in Poland. Graduated from Photography, Film and Multimedia studies at Napier University, Edinburgh, UK (2002) and “Social Communication” Studies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra / Barcelona (2003-2005).

Representation by the German Photo Agency Agentur Focus. Agata Skowronek has collaborated with different newspapers and magazines, such as SZ, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, FAZ, Stern, El Pais, Le Monde, Woman, Volkskrant, Geo. Since 2011 she is represented by Cosmos Photo in France.

Agata Skowronek has worked in collaboration in photography and video with NGO’s such as Intermón Oxfam, UNICEF and the workers union Comisiones Obreras in Catalonia. In April 2006 and April 2008 she was participating in a traveling exhibition about Spanish guest workers in Germany in collaboration with the MuVIM (Museu Valencia de la Illustracio i la Modernitat) in Spain.

Since end of 2006, after moving to Istanbul, Agata specialized on the Middle East. Recently she has realized personal projects in Iraq, as well as working on different assignments for international publications on various themes in the region. Her personal, long term projects include the Yezidi minority in northern Iraq as well as the Iraqi Marshlands in the southern part of the country.

From September to November 2011 she had an exhibition about the Yezidis, “ Fire and the Peacock Angle” in the Gallery Muehlhausetc. in Troisdorf / Cologne, Germany.
In October 2011 Agata Skowronek was filming a video in the Iraqi Marshlands for a campaign against Dams on the Euphrates and the Tigris rivers for the Austrian NGO ECA Watch.

In her recent projects she is interested in the question of authorship as well as the borders of documentary and art photography.
